What We Like
I ear you're interested in this offer Oops, I meant hear. Wait, thats wordplay too! Sounds like I should read on, maybe Ill totally lobe this treat...
House of Hearing provides safe, effective and professional ear wax removal using micro-suction technology.
The ear is a self-cleaning mechanism that usually disposes of wax thanks to a slow and orderly migration, but sometimes it doesnt work quite right. House of Hearing will check to see if theres a build-up that needs removal.
The procedure involves the nurse placing a small speculum (funnel) into the ear canal and viewing the ear drum with a microscope. Then, using gentle micro-suction, excessive or troublesome ear wax is removed.
...Wait, dont go! I know you want one more appropriate piece of wordplay. Well listen here, youre not getting any! Now, if youll excuse me, I have to go watch The Karate Kid. Wax on, wax off. Wax on, wax out of my ears already.

Hearing loss affects lives, lifestyles, relationships, and often leads to feelings of isolation. International studies have shown that when not managed, the condition reduces the effectiveness of people in the workplace and leads to decreased household income. Even more importantly, people who address their hearing loss earlier report feeling younger, more confident, and eager to once again enjoy the social situations that had become tedious. These findings are consistent with the experiences of the hundreds of clients who House of Hearing have helped over the years to achieve better hearing and a better quality of life.
Thankfully the New Zealand government recognises the impact hearing impairment has on people’s lives and the economy. Subsequently, the cost of hearing aids are subsidised under a range of schemes, which provides greater access to hearing solutions.
Kiwis are often shocked to learn hearing clinics across the country are being acquired by hearing aid manufacturers or global retail chains – and thus are really just well disguised vehicles for pushing their own range of hearing aids. In contrast, House of Hearing is proudly independent and locally owned.
The staff at House of Hearing will find you the best treatments from the full range of available solutions, including tinnitus management, rehabilitation, counselling, and hearing aids from all leading manufacturers. They are here to help you at every step of the way and find a solution that works for you. If you have any questions, or would like to arrange a hearing test or trial of the latest digital hearing aids, please don’t hesitate to call or book an appointment online.
