Yoga and Pilates are fantastic forms of exercise that don't require the motivation to tackle a tedious treadmill. Gentle on the body, sweet to the soul and feel-good fun, Aotea Yoga's classes will have you coming back for more.
Aotea Yoga’s style is Hatha base infusing disciplines, Ashtanga, Iyengar & Vinyasa with a lot of flowing sequences to keep the body moving and warm. A lot of emphasis is put on correct breathing and transitioning through postures with intention & precision.
Aotea Yoga’s classes will challenge and benefit the body & mind through different postures and breathing techniques. There will be times when a posture can go deeper through subtle and not so subtle movements so be prepared to listen to your body to know how ‘deep’ you should go. You shouldn’t feel pain at any time through the class but being comfortably uncomfortable is a good place to be in. By being in this state, relaxation and a calm mind can manifest more easily.

Designed to target the ligaments & tendons directly in a safe and healthful manner while indirectly stretching & releasing the associated muscle groups. Pilates (Child Friendly)
An all levels class where all people are welcome; men, women & children (they play, you do the work). The focus will be on building core strength and toning and strengthening the back body (upper back, glutes & hamstrings) to assist in decompressing the spine. Making you feel, taller, lighter and of course stronger! The class is fun & easy going
Yogalates (Child Friendly)
An all levels class where all people are welcome. During this class we will be incorporating yoga into our pilates for a more dynamic approach to overall body health and awareness
An all levels class consciously co-ordinating the breath with flowing transitions from asana to asana. Vinyasa sequences increase strength, flexibility and endurance
A beginners class working with fundamental poses and an introduction to power vinyasa
Yoga for Shoulders, Neck & Upper Back
A level 1/2 class to relieve the upper body's stresses by releasing the tension we tend to easily hold in these muscles. Helping to reduce headaches, stiff upper back and neck and tight shoulders by creating better range of motion & mobility
